DNEIPR

K-650

Outfit

4 speed 'two way' gearbox

(flick a lever for reverse gears)

I have owned this bike for about 6 years.

It was purchased from a guy who had owned it for years, but he rarely rode it.

He told me he couldn't get the hang of sidecars.

(I do not why he didn't simply remove the sidecar.)

He also had a registered solo Dnepr,

which he wanted too much money for.

I believe this is a 1975 bike,

but it may have been made as early as 1972.

When I purchased it only had 489 kms on the clock (!!)

And basically seemed to be in as-new condition,

with only a few minor dents and scratches.

It did however show signs of 25 years of storage.

The high (!) quality Ukrainian chrome work was no longer perfect and some surface rust existed.

I have a number of old BMW outfits

and rarely got around to riding this bike.

I sometimes used it on the farm for a bit of fun,

when the postie bike wouldn't go.

This bike is like a tractor, slow but strong.

Once it reached thirty years old, I put it on club plates,

(not transferable) and I used it locally.

It is great on the dirt roads, and lots of fun.

(my dog loves it).

It was often seen outside the Dromedary Hotel,

and sometimes as far away as Café 59.

If you are considering bidding on this bike,

be aware that it has a top speed of about 90 km/h.

About 12 months ago the distributor cap and rotor finally began to perish, and I pushed it into the back of the shed, until I got around to fixing it.

I eventually purchased and fitted new parts from Russia.

(Parts appear to be readily available, if you do not mind waiting 2-3 weeks.)

I have a photocopied Dnepr manual and parts book etc.

The bike started first kick, but it may need fine tuning.

It has now travelled a total of 724 kms !!!!!

and still has the 4 original MADE IN RUSSIA tyres!

This bike is not in showroom condition,

but could easily be cleaned up again.

It shows some signs of long term storage.

And I have not washed or cleaned it for 3 or 4 years.

(I prefer to clean the BM's!!)
